Festive Gala Evening in Moscow

Moscow Gala - 2017 -3

The Jerusalem Foundation, the Shalva organization, that works to advance people with disabilities, and the Russian Jewish Congress held a festive gala evening in Moscow to mark the 50th anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem. During the September 14th event, funds were raised for a national emergency center for children with disabilities, which will operate from the Shalva National Center in Jerusalem.

The evening took place at the historic Metropol Hotel, close to the Kremlin and the Bolshoi Theater. Some 500 business people from Moscow, Jews and non-Jews alike, took part. Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat was the evening's Guest of Honor, participating in a panel on the relationship between Jerusalem and the diaspora. Another participant in the panel included the well-known philanthropist Michael Fridman, founder of the Genesis Prize.

 Jerusalem Foundation President Yohanna Arbib-Perugia spoke about the brave and developing relationship between Moscow and Jerusalem and the Shalva Dance Troupe, which includes children with special needs, excited and moved the audience with their performance.
