Gala Evening in Torino to Benefit Culture

On November 4, 2017, Jerusalem Foundation will host a gala evening at the Palazzo Della Luce in Torino, Italy, and proceeds from the event will go to Jerusalem cultural projects that bring the city’s diverse population groups together.

Every year, the Foundation’s Italian Board hosts a gala event in an Italian city. Similar events were held in “MAXXI”, Rome’s Museum of Contemporary Art and a Milan castle where an Expo-Exhibition style event took place. In 2016, we hosted an event in Venice honoring  500 years since the establishment of the world’s  first ghetto.

This year’s event is expected to draw high society Italians from all over Italy as well as the Israeli Ambassador to Italy, Ofer Zacks, and Jerusalem Foundation President Yohanna Arbib- Perugia.

Ermanno Tedeschi, Chairman of the Board of Jerusalem Foundation in Italy, himself an avid art curator, organized an exhibition of antique and contemporary menorahs from the ancient synagogue in the town of Casale Monferrato.

The evening will include a public auction of works of art and special objects donated by Italian leading fashion houses and designers.  Two artistic photographs of Tohar Lev Jacobson, a graduate of the Musrara School of Art and Society, will also be auctioned.  The master of ceremonies for the auction will be Piero Chiambretti, a well-known Italian comedian and television star, who will run the event in a unique and vivid style.  Torino will also be hosting  the Artissima Art Fair, a well known contemporary art fair, which will take place simultaneously with the Foundation’s event.

Our thanks go to Bank Sella and other Italian companies who sponsored this event. We look forward to an inspiring and beautiful evening.
