About the project

Beit Agron (Agron’s House) houses the Israeli government press offices. The facility is named for Gershon Agron (born Agronsky, 1894-1959), an Israeli press pioneer, founder of the English-language daily the Palestine Post (later the Jerusalem Post) in 1932 and Mayor of Jerusalem 1955-1959. The Jerusalem Foundation supported creation of the Morris L. Schaver Auditorium at Beit Agron, a public hall that would later house the city’s audio-visual presentation, Time Elevator.
