About the project
Shalva (Peace of Mind), the Israel Association to Relieve the Handicapped Child and Family, was established in 1990 by Kalman & Malky Samuels.The organization provides afterschool care and activities and overnight stays to children and young adults from all over the city who suffer from severe mental and physical disabilities, but whose parents choose to keep them at home instead of in full-time institutions. In 1998, Shalva inaugurated its permanent home in the Har Nof neighborhood, the Shalva Children’s Center, Beit Nachshon.
