About the project
City as a School brings elementary, junior and senior high school students to on-site enrichment classes at Jerusalem’s historical, cultural and national institutions. The program takes advantage of the city’s unique institutions to broaden educational opportunities for children from neighborhoods throughout the city. Elementary school and junior high school students use the Bernard M. Bloomfield Science Museum, the Tower of David Museum, the U. Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art and other institutions as classrooms for a day. Senior high school students take full courses that lead to matriculation exams: music at the Yellow Submarine, art at the Israel Museum, mechatronics, biotechnology and digital processing at the Belmonte Science Laboratories Center and more.
