About the project
In 1976, the Jerusalem Foundation established a book fund to support the purchase of books for public libraries and school libraries throughout the city. The fund has operated ever since and has been supported by numerous donors, including book stores and publishers in Israel and abroad, providing thousands of books to Jerusalem readers. Over the years, the Foundation has developed specific funds, such as the Leah Spanier Book Fund and the Isabel W. Rosenberg Book Fund, and has supported repairs to public library buildings and the purchase of computers and other library equipment.
