About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation has periodically provided support for physical work at synagogues and yeshivot (institutions for Torah and Talmud study). Projects have ranged from painting, electrical repairs and installation of new windows to completion of new buildings. Over the years, through 10 different endeavors, the Foundation has assisted dozens of yeshivot and approximately 200 synagogues. Most of the synagogues are small, neighborhood synagogues that serve particular ethnic communities, including Jews from Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and more.
