About the project
Aid to the Elderly was a fund established by the Jerusalem Foundation and the municipal Department of Welfare to assist thousands of poor senior citizens in meeting their most basic needs. The fund provides small sums of money to individuals for medical, paramedical and social services, including basic dental care, health-related equipment and basic household items. It also supports renovations at senior citizens’ clubs, holiday events at residential homes, subsidies for cultural events and organizations that advocate for the elderly.
