About the project
The Beit Yisra’el Club for the Elderly serves approximately 80 independent and 20 home-bound seniors in the Me’a Sha’arim and Beit Yisra’el neighborhoods. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovations to the club in 1989. Work on the 60-year-old building in which the club is located included roof, plumbing and wall repairs and purchase of equipment and furnishings. The Foundation also supported club programs over many years, including visits to the home-bound, an on-call nurse, holiday parties and classes in nutrition, physical fitness, Bible and arts and crafts.
