About the project
The municipality founded a public library on the ground floor of a housing project in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood in 1966. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovation of the library and dedicated it as the Berta Spitzer & Hessia Spitzer-Horowitz Library in 1979. The library relocated in 1984 to the nearby Israel Sieff & Simon Marks School & Community Center in Beit Hakerem, where its name was shortened to the Hessia Spitzer-Horowitz Library.
