About the project
Beyachad is an organization comprised predominantly of religiously observant Israelis who feel that the politically-controlled religious establishment has estranged most Israelis from Judaism. The organization works to demonstrate that democratic and Jewish values together provide the best basis for making Israel an exemplary ethical society. The volunteer organization teaches the importance of democratic values to religious communities and of Jewish values to secular young people, works to combat the interpenetration of politics and religion in Israel, and promotes religious-secular partnerships in meeting the challenges that face Israeli society.
