About the project
Dor Shalom (Peace Generation) is a grass-roots social reform movement of 25,000 members that was founded after the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Dor Shalom runs programs for young people aimed at revitalizing the values of democracy, social justice and tolerance, including summer camps for children from development towns, inner cities and immigrant communities. The Jerusalem Foundation supported the organization’s summer camp program in Jerusalem, enabling children aged 5-11 from low-income neighborhoods to attend three-week camp sessions at seven community centers. Activities included swimming, hiking and visits to museums, the Tisch Family Zoological Gardens in Jerusalem and other sites.
