About the project
The Gishur (Bridging the Gap) project is a multi-year, multi-faceted effort to bring together religious and secular, right-wing and left-wing youth throughout the city. Established in the wake of the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the project includes encounters and joint projects among youth of varying religious backgrounds through schools, community centers and youth movements. Projects undertaken by thousands of participants each year have included musical events at the Yellow Submarine, Mifgash Community Theater performances, and Holocaust Memorial Day events. The program is operated by the Jerusalem Foundation in cooperation with the municipality and the city’s community centers.
