About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation helped establish Grey Action – Council for the Rights of the Elderly (originally called Ken Lezaken, Yes to the Elderly) in 2004. The council is a volunteer senior citizen’s advocacy organization that operates a hot-line to provide direct assistance and referrals to senior citizens on issues ranging from housing to health care and public safety, takes up legal action when appropriate, and lobbies for seniors’ rights. 60 volunteers answered nearly 1,000 calls in 2005.
