About the project
The Hassenfeld Family Community Center is located next to the Lea & Maurice Goldberg Sports Hall and serves children, youth and adults from the Kiryat Hayovel neighborhood. The Jerusalem Foundation initially supported activities at the center for children and youth, including summer camps. In 1999, it supported construction of the Hassenfeld Center for the Elderly, an addition to the center that offers communal meals, lectures, crafts classes and holiday celebrations to the neighborhood’s growing population of senior citizens. In 2002, the Foundation renovated the center’s day care center.
