About the project
The Israel Camerata is a chamber orchestra founded in 1984 by Professor Avner Biron. The orchestra performs more than 100 concerts a year, including subscriber series, festivals, and special concerts in Israel and abroad. The orchestra performs a repertoire ranging from early Baroque to contemporary music, including many works commissioned by the Camerata from Israeli composers. The Camerata regularly tours Europe and the United States and has performed in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls. It also offers unique educational programs in Jerusalem schools and conservatories. The Jerusalem Foundation provided financial support to the orchestra in 2005.
