About the project
The Jerusalem Dance Theater was Jerusalem’s second professional repertory dance troupe, following the Jerusalem Tamar Dance Company. The troupe was created by director and choreographer Tamara Mielnik, who draws on Yiddish sources in creating contemporary dance settings. The 10-member ensemble offers performances and a children’s dance school. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported equipment purchase and scholarships for needy children.
