About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation supported creation of a city model intended as a working tool for architects and planners in 1987. The 1:500-scale model enables viewers to visualize the effects of proposed building projects on surrounding areas. The model was built by Richard Harvey with the help of architecture students from the Technion in Haifa over 15 years. It is part of the Jerusalem Center for Planning in Historic Cities, an international laboratory for pioneering and testing new architectural and urban development methods, which is located in the municipal government complex.
