About the project
The Jerusalem Tennis Center was founded in 1981. The center is one of 14 centers operated by the Israel Tennis Center, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1976 that provides tennis programs to children and adults, primarily in disadvantaged neighborhoods and development towns. The Jerusalem center, which is located in the Katamon Tet neighborhood near Teddy Stadium, includes 18 illuminated tennis courts, a 2,000-seat stadium, a multi-purpose room, a fitness room, a practice wall, dressing rooms, offices, a sporting goods store and a snack bar. The center provides instruction to 500 children each year, including those who are wheelchair-bound and hearing-impaired.
