About the project
Jewish Art Week was a week-long event celebrating Jewish art that included lectures, seminars, tours, exhibitions and a major Judaica auction. The event was organized in conjuntion with the Center for Jewish Art at the Hebrew University, the Israel Museum and Sotheby’s. The Jerusalem Foundation supported publication of the Jewish Journal of Art and a summary of the lectures delivered at the symposium, a fund for the purchase of books on Jewish art for the Jewish National & University Library, and research scholarships for a survey on Sephardi synagogues. The event was intended to establish Jerusalem as the center of major Jewish art activities that previously had been scattered throughout the world.
