About the project
The John V. Lindsay Park is a garden and playground created in honor of John V. Lindsay, Mayor of New York City, 1966-1973. The Jerusalem Foundation has expanded and renovated the park over the years to include lawns, a rose bed, play equipment and landscaping. It erected the Eliezer Kresny Meeting Corner, a stone bench with a pergola, at the entrance to the park in 2004. A Cat, a smooth, granite play sculpture by Italian-born, San Francisco sculptor Benjamin Bufano (Benjamino Benvenuto Bufano, 1898-1970), is located in the park’s sandbox.
