About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation supported completion of the Keter Torah-Beit Aharon Synagogue in the Katamon Alef neighborhood in 1983. The synagogue, which serves the Kurdish community, features a sanctuary with a women’s gallery, central area for Torah reading and chandeliers. The synagogue’s dedication was marked by a parade that brought the community’s torah scrolls through the neighborhood into the new building.
