About the project
The Korenblum Sculptures number 7 in all, and were part of the Jerusalem Stone Scuplture Workshop project in 1992. Unique and original, the aim of this project was to give immigrant sculptors an opportunity to sculpt and exhibit their work, at the same time providing seven of Jerusalem’s gardens and parks with interesting pieces of public art.
As sole supporters of the project, it became known as the Korenblum Sculptures. Below is a list of the seven pieces of sculpture, along with the name of the artist and park it stands in.
The Central Sculpture is called “Sheep” by Pessach Flit and can be found in Independence Park on Agron street.
2. Armchair & Cat by Varda Givoli & Ilan Gelber in the Clubhouse for the Blind Garden Hamifaked Street Abu Tor.
3. The Jerusalem Pine by Noam Rabinovich, the Simon Bolivar Park in Kiryat Hayovel.
4. The Dove by Dov Heller in the Milton Petrie Garden in Wadi el Joz
5. Three Horns by Tania Preminger, stands in the Ovadiya Levi Park in Har Nof.
6. The Immigrant by Leonid Zilber, stands in the Shalom Garden on the corner of Yiftach Street Baka.
7.Resting Place by Israel Rabinovitz Rachel Immanu Street in the German Colony.
