About the project
The Lea & Maurice Goldberg Sports Hall is home to Jerusalem’s national league basketball team, Hapo’el Jerusalem, which plays in the 3,000-seat basketball facility. It also hosts a variety of sport activities, such as martial arts and gymnastics events.The hall is administered by the Jerusalem Sports Authority. The Jerusalem Foundation began work to establish the facility in 1978, when it created the Kiryat Hayovel Education, Cultural & Sport Center. Since the hall’s completion in 1983, the Foundation has supported renovations and the purchase of new equipment, including renovations to the basketball court in 1997 to meet revised international standards, enabling the hall and Jerusalem to continue to host international competitions.
