About the project
Matav is an organization established in 1958 to provide home care to the elderly, physically impaired, the disabled and others. Since then, the organization has grown into the largest such welfare organization in Israel, providing social workers, nurses and other caregivers for thousands of elderly and disabled individuals throughout the country in their homes, in nursing homes and in other community facilities.The Jerusalem Foundation has supported several Matav activities over the years, including an emergency hotline, in-house care, social activities, home care workers training courses and expansion of Matav services to disabled elderly in east Jerusalem.
