About the project
The Model Park is a large community urban nature site adjacent to, and a natural extension of, the Gazelle Valley. The Model Park is a well kept terraced park offering beautiful scenery, a rich ecosystem including endemic flora and fauna (especially its plethora of bird species) and an easily accessible respite from urban pressures representative of the native flora and fauna found in the Jerusalem hills.
Access from the Gazelle Valley is via a small gate, the path then leads up the hill toward fantastic vistas of the valley and the surrounding neighbourhoods. At the top of the hill there is a structure providing shade and a rest point. The park is built around a circular path, which then brings hikers in the area back down the hill adjacent to the buildings of Givat Mordehai.
The Model Park borders on burial caves from the Second temple period.
