About the project
The Nurit Katzir Jerusalem Theater Center was established in 1978 at the initiative Prof. Ephraim Katzir, the fourth President of the State of Israel, and his wife, Nina Katzir, in memory of their daughter Nurit.The center is a home for amatuer drama and theater groups. The center, which is operated by the municipality, offers theater programs for children, youth, teens and adults. Approximately 400 people participate in center activities each week. The Jerusalem Foundation supported the center’s relocation to the Charles E. Smith High School for the Arts in 1993.
