About the project
Ossim Shalom (Social Workers for Peace & Social Welfare) is an organization of social workers that works on conflict resolution and coexistence issues through social welfare projects. The organization’s Jewish and Arab volunteers work in disadvantaged areas throughout the country, providing support and training programs. The Jerusalem Foundation supported Social Working Together, an extra-currrricular seminar operated jointly by the Hebrew University and el-Quds University for students in the social work programs of each institution, in 2005. The program brings the students together bi-weekly to understand cultural and societal norms in the Jewish and Arab communities to help students understand the issues they will face as social workers.
