About the project
Psik (Comma) Theater was founded in Jerusalem in 1997 by three young actors and graduates of the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, Assi Shimony, Shmulik Hadjes and Uzi Bitton, to create original theater based on comtemporary themes in Israeli culture.The theater toupe performs its repetoire for children, teens and adults, and undertakes special theater projects for the disabled, new immigrants and at-risk youth. The company has performed at festivals throughout Israel and in Europe. In 2005, more than 50,000 people attended Psik productions in Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported the group’s activities for children, including those with special needs. In 2004, the group was incorporated into Hebrew University’s Department of Theater Studies.
