About the project
The Guatemala Elementary School is a secular public school serving the Kiryat Menachem neighborhood. The Jerusalem Foundation renovated the school’s sport hall in 1991. In 1995, it supported a major renovation project, which included improvements to classrooms, the library, science and computer laboratories, the music room, electrical and heating systems and playground; the school was rededicated as the Saul Hirschel Elementary School. Since then, it has supported activities, including an environmental awareness program. The school has a public library branch in its basement.
