About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation helped establish a program to offer enrichment activities to special needs children in eight community centers in 1981. The program, which ran over many years, provided afterschool programs in arts and crafts, drama, swimming and more to children with a range of disabilities. The program placed special emphases on providing joint activities for healthy and disabled children, integrating the special needs children into the daily activities of the community centers, and offering activities for the children with their families.
