About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation has supported weekly children’s story hours at neighborhood libraries and schools throughout the city for many years. The Freda Levine Story Hour took place at an early childhood center and at the Pisgat Ze’ev East Elementary School over several years. The Isabel W. Rosenberg Story Hour takes place at the Sally & Philip W. Lown Youth & Community Center. The Helen J. Smith Story Hour took place at the Leo Model Library in Gilo. Story hours are offered in Hebrew or Arabic depending on the neighborhood. English story hours have also been offered in neighborhoods with high concentrations of English speakers, including Har Nof, Baka and Beit Hakerem.
