About the project
Supportive Communities for Senior Citizens is a project developed beginning in 1994 by Eshel, the Association for the Planning & Development of Services for the Aged in Israel, to provide services and activities for independent senior citizens. The program provides medical services, social workers and aids to enable seniors to cope with living in their homes. In 2005, the program served more than 2,000 seniors in 13 Jerusalem neighborhoods. It was used also as a model in creating the Supportive Communities for the Disabled program.
