About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation established the Wolff & Rose Klabin Junior High School by renovating a junior high school that served 300 students in the Kiryat Menachem neighborhood. The school had been established in 1986 in a complex of c. 1950s buildings that had previously served as an elementary school. The buildings had been constructed with little planning and poor materials, and were in severely deteriorated condition. Renovations included unifying the buildings into a coherent whole, creating recreational areas, establishing a computer laboratory, landscaping, painting and purchasing furniture and equipment. The Jerusalem Foundation also has supported a center for children with learning disabilities and an afterschool study center for children who lack a conducive home environment. The school facility will become home to the Re’ut School in the 2007-2008 school year.
