About the project
Gan Ya’el (Ya’el’s Garden) is the most recent of four Jerusalem Foundation-supported parks built on Smuts Street in the German Colony neighborhood, and is immediately adjacent to the Gershon & Ada Garden. The park was created in memory of Ya’el Botvin, who was killed in a terrorist attack on the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall in downtown Jerusalem in September 1997 at the age of 14.
