About the project
THE ZOO TRAIN a gift of the Joseph and Dorothy Goldberg Trust has the capacity to carry 70 passengers, and in peak season train passes by every 20 minutes.
The train is intended, among other things, to give visitors an over view of the zoo, to provide amusement for the children and to assist those people who have difficulty walking for whatever reason. Operating Sunday through Friday, the zoo train route is circular, with its first stop for alighting only is next to the Brown Bear Exhibit. The third stop is next to the hippo exhibit and opposite the elephants, here you can board or get off. The fourth and final station is for alighting only and is adjacent to the flamingo Pond close to the entrance of the zoo.
