Approximately 11,000 Holocaust survivors live in Jerusalem, most of whom face the challenges of old age as well as psychological, physical and economic challenges that are unique to them.
Cafe Europa is a socio-cultural club for Holocaust survivors that serves as a meeting place for them. Along with coffee and cake they enjoy a socio-cultural experience and share memories of a magnificent culture that was part of their childhood and that was destroyed by the Nazis.
Eight such clubs operate throughout the city, including in the ultra-Orthodox sector as well as for Holocaust refugees from the Commonwealth of Independent States and survivors from North Africa. as senior citizens, survivors also receive assistance in exercising rights in various areas, as well as personal attention and guidance from the accompanying coordinators. When they are unable to attend a meeting in person, volunteers come to their home.
Commemoration of your loved one in one of the café Europa centers will help allow us to continue our support in this wonderful and meaningful program that enables survivors to continue their lives with dignity and happiness and enjoy their remaining years.
