About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation completed construction of the Elsie & Peter Brandt School, a public, co-educational, religious elementary school, in 1981. The original facility included classrooms, a gymnasium, library, and computer science laboratories. Over the years, the school has worked to address the challenges of acculturating, integrating and educating 300-400 students per year who primarily come from poor, immigrant families. As of 2007, 60% of the students were recent immigrants from Ethiopia and 15% from the former Soviet Union.
