About the project
The Leonard & Adele Blumberg Mother & Child Care Center is located next to the Gonenim Community Center in the Katamon Dalet neighborhood. The center serves residents of southwestern Jerusalem, primarily those of the Katamonim neighborhoods. It houses an audiology clinic and provides classes in dental care, nutrition and other health issues to children from area schools. The Jerusalem Foundation established the center in 1994 by renovating, furnishing and equipping an existing center. In 1998, it supported renovations to the center’s bomb shelter to house Green House, a unique parents’ drop-in center (in 2002, Green House moved to its own location.) In 2004, the mother & child care center expanded its catchment area to include former patients of the Elsie L. Brandt Mother & Child Care Center.
