About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation has supported the establishment, renovation, furnishing and equipping of many municipal homes for children suffering from neglect and abuse. The homes provide alternatives to children and teenagers whose parents are unable to provide them with healthy home environments, providing supervision and care by professional social workers, tutoring and group activities in warm atmospheres. Facilities assisted by the Foundation have included the Crispin Home in Arnona, the Ofir Home for religious children in Ramat Eshkol, theTubul Home in Baka, a home for Arab girls in Shu’afat, and one for Arab boys in Jabel Mukaber. The Foundation also has supported activities at several hostels, including the Etnachta (Pause) Hostel for Homeless Youth and the Havruta Hostel for ultra-Orthodox boys at risk.
