About the project

The Arazim (Cedars) School for Special Education is an elementary school established in 1974 for children with behavioral difficulties. The school serves 30-40 students aged six-11 who are victims of domestic violence, neglect or other family issues. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported improvements to the school facility, including creation of the Joseph Cimet Shoijet Library & Play Corner at the school’s original City Center facility in 1979 and the Robert A. & Miriam G. Perski Playground in 1992. It has also supported the provision of meals and enrichment activities, including sports, art and drama classes and outings, which the children do not receive during regular school hours.
