About the project

Beit Shmu’el is the educational and cultural center of the World Union for Progressive Judaism’s (the Reform Movement’s) Israel headquarters. Beit Shmu’el is located on the Hebrew Union College – World Union for Progressive Judaism campus, which was established in the City Center in 1973. The Jerusalem Foundation supported construction of the facility, which was designed by architect Moshe Safdie and includes classrooms, a library and an events hall and has supported subsidized tickets for cultural events for at-risk youth.
