About the project

The Bible Lands Museum was established to present
Biblical history through ancient Near Eastern art. The museum illustrates the cultures of the peoples mentioned in the Bible – from Egypt eastward across the Fertile Crescent to Afghanistan, and from Nubia north to the Caucasian mountains, including the Philistines, Arameans, Hittites, Elamites, Phoenicians and Persians. The museum offers a permanent collection (primarily that of Dr. Elie Borowski), traveling exhibits, lecture series, concerts and activities for children. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported the museum’s Image of Abraham project, which brings together hundreds of Arab and Jewish 4th and 5th grade students each year.
