About the project
Extended Hours for Special Education Schools is a program that enables special education schools throughout the city to extend their days by an extra four hours beyond the usual 1 pm finish. This extra time enables parents to spend time with their other children or at work, and serves as a means for introducing enrichment activities such as art and music. Schools benefiting from this program have included the: Shaked School for Special Education, Nitzanim School for Special Education, Harry & Abe Sherman (Ilanot) School, Albert & Suzanne Hettena Day Care Center, Dekalim School, Bertha Goodman (Broshim) School, Beit Bubis (Alonim School), Ruthie & Sam (Rimonim) Kindergarten, Tidhar School, Eddie Shore Kindergarten, El-Amal School and El-Nur School.
