About the project
The Givat Gonen Elementary School is a secular public school located next to the Audre Rapoport Givat Gonen High School in the Katamon Tet neighborhood. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported many physical improvement projects at the school over the years: it created the Gonen Tet Public Library, a library to serve students and the larger community, in the school in 1978; created the school’s first computer laboratory in 1985, renovated and purchased equipment for the school gymnasium in 1989, and established a physics laboratory in 1990. In 2004, the Foundation completed major renovations that included interior and exterior improvements, playground improvements, renovations to the outdoor sport court and creation of a petting zoo.
