About the project
The Gordon Street Hostel is a six room house whose purchase was made possible in 1983 with a donation from the Cuckier Goldstein-Goren Foundation. The Hostel is operated by “Akim” an organization that provides, and cares for, the mentally disabled of all ages. This house enables 5 young women with mental disabilities to live in a home and community environment along with their in house caregivers. “Akim” operates 3 other hostels and 14 apartments throughout the city. .
