About the project
The Integrated Teacher Training Institute, formerly the Jerusalem Pedagogical Institute, is the main center for the supplemental training of Jerusalem’s 8,000 teachers. The institute is run in cooperation with the Ministry of Education & Culture and the municipality. It offers continuing education courses, assistance with teaching methodologies, a resource library and career counseling. The Jerusalem Foundation supported the relocation of the institute to the Alonim School facility building following the school’s relocation to the building in which the institute had been located. Renovation work at the new facility included electrical and plumbing improvements and the purchase of furnishings and equipment. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovations to the institute’s science and technology laboratory in 2000.
