About the project

The Isfahani Synagogue, formally called the Yad Shimon Synagogue in memory of Rabbi Shimon Moalam, was built in 1980 to serve the Jewish community that had fled Isfahan, Iran and settled in this Jerusalem neighborhood. The Jerusalem Foundation supported construction, furnishing and equipping the synagogue, which now serves as a synagogue and yeshiva (institution for Torah and Talmud study).
