About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovations to turn a former church building into the Jerusalem Beit Knesset (Synagogue) of the World Council of Synagogues in 1980. The synagogue later became one facility within the larger Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism, the main campus of the Masorti (Conservative) Movement in Jerusalem, which includes the Conservative Yeshiva and a youth hostel.
