About the project
The Lev Ha’ir (Heart of the City) Community Center, also known as the Ohel Moshe Community Center, is located in the Ohel Moshe section of Nachla’ot. The center serves residents of the City Center, Machane Yehuda and Nachla’ot. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported various activities at the center, including discussion groups between ultra-Orthodox and non-ultra-Orthodox women, a youth leadership training program and the Handcart Children Program, which offers language lessons, social studies, art, sports, and the aid of social workers to help approximately 30 Arab boys each year who drop out of school in order to work at the Machane Yehuda market.
